The laws and regulations surrounding marketing can be overwhelming. While you don’t have to be an expert on all the laws, it is important to have a basic understanding so you are aware and know what you should ask your legal advisors.

CAN-SPAM and Opt-Outs: According to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the CAN-SPAM Act is a law that sets the rules for commercial email. This act establishes requirements for commercial messages and gives recipients the right to have you stop emailing them. It spells out penalties for violations. Here are the main CAN-SPAM requirements:
