Writing a Business Plan

After completing the research phase of the business plan process, you are ready to begin writing. Use these tips to help draft a successful business plan.

Be honest. Obviously you should you avoid exaggerations, or outright lies. You should reveal what you feel to be the significant and relevant aspects of the plan, even if they’re challenging. If there are possible problems, point them out.
Use the third person (he/she/it) rather than first person (I/me). Write as if you were a consultant hired by a doctor to write their business plan. Discuss the business rather than the owner. This focuses your thoughts and forces you to think more clearly and logically from the reader’s perspective. It also focuses the reader on the business rather than a person.
